First thing’s first. Where are you going?
Do you have a few places in mind? Then narrow down your options to two or three vacations.
If you know for sure where you want to go, then you can narrow your options down to different resorts or hotels!
Now that you’ve focused your options on where you want to go and where you want to stay, then it’s time to start comparing prices!
Research Costs
If you have the budget template handy, you can fill in your budget costs as you do your research.
Researching costs prepares you for the overall cost of the vacation and will help you pick the best options.

Finalize Vacation Budget Template
After you’ve done your research, it’s time to make the final decision on where to go! Deciding where to vacation will hopefully be easier with the budget template.
Once you’ve made your decision, finalize the budget template to plan your vacation! Keep in mind, you are on vacation – so be sure to add in some fluff to your expenses that may vary. Like, food, drinks, entertainment, and miscellaneous.
You want the budget to be a spending plan and not a handcuff!
Adding a little extra to your budget will also prevent you from getting in debt over vacation. Remember, you do NOT want to come home to a financial burden!
Decide How You’ll Get There
Okay now that you have your spending plan in place, you need to decide how you will get there!
And by that I mean, what is your savings plan?
Can you reach this vacation savings goal in 3 months, 6 months, or 9 months? Whatever it is, start your savings plan and be realistic!
Now it’s time to enjoy yourself because all the hard financial decisions have already been made for your future self!
