Our story + why
On August 25th, 2021, Better Than Yesterday, LLC officially launched as a remote accounting firm. Before this, I spent over a decade working at a brick-and-mortar accounting firm, where I handled a wide range of professional tasks, including taxes, government audits, payroll, bookkeeping, and financial advising. My passion in accounting has always been rooted in the tax and financial sectors. When the pandemic created an opportunity for the accounting industry to go fully remote, I jumped on the chance to assist clients nationwide. This transition allowed me to concentrate on my true passions — taxes and finances. And that’s exactly why at BTY our focus is on providing top-notch tax and financial services to help our clients improve their business and personal finances.
While accounting is my passion, educating others is just as important to me. That’s why I started a financial blog to make professional information accessible to everyone. My goal is to combine my professional experience and education with personal insights to offer free education and resources. The financial peace and freedom that come from getting your finances in order are truly liberating, and I’m eager to share that feeling with as many people as possible. Hi! My name is Ashley, but you can call me Ash. I'm a licensed EA (Enrolled Agent), long story short, it means I really enjoy taxes – so I earned a credential for it. Now on to my why! I’ve always been driven to help people, and the most rewarding part of my job is advising and educating my clients. In 2021, I turned this passion into action by starting my own accounting firm. Through Better Than Yesterday, LLC, we provide tax and financial services to help our clients improve their business and personal finances. Plus, we share valuable information through our blog to reach even more people!

I earned my associate’s degree in business administration and bring a strong analytical mindset to the team, thanks to my prior experience as a data analyst. I’ve always had a knack for numbers and meticulous reporting – a perfect foundation for my passion: personal finance. I’m currently dedicated to mastering all aspects of tax preparation.
